Some people may not realize it but it is important to know the different kinds of office chairs. We need to choose which among them would fit our lifestyles and more importantly, our bodies best. Not all chairs are the same; you may be satisfied with the service of one, disappointed with the service of the other and then be happy with another office chair. We sit on these work chairs for an average of 8 to 9 hours. Many people even stay in their offices and sit on their work chairs for longer periods of time. If we choose a wrong type of chair, we may develop bad posture and even poor blood circulation. On the other hand, if we are able to buy the right type, our work productivity will surely increase. Here are some of the most common types of office chairs. Read their descriptions, compare them with each other and choose wisely which among these types would suit you best.
Inspect the Chair Every 6 Months – Just like any other piece of machinery that gets used often, screws and bolts can become loose as time progresses. In order to avoid accidents, such as a chair collapsing or a part giving out, you should inspect your chair at least once every 6 months to make sure all parts and components of the chair are tightened. Look for defective casters/wheels, loose securing bolts, loose arms, broken mechanism, and evidence of cracks on the base of the chair from stress. If any of these parts are broken, contact your furniture dealer to see if these parts are under warranty. As aforementioned, if your chair has a good warranty, you should be able to get these replacement parts shipped to you for free.
The Benefits of Ergonomic Chairs in The Office – The ability to fine-tune a chair's position via a number of different levers offers many benefits to the user of an ergonomic chair, some of which are fairly obvious and some of which are less so. For one thing, an ergonomic 2 or 3-lever chair allows you to adjust your seat to provide the best support possible. Furthermore, ergonomic chairs for offices can help prevent Carpal Tunnel Syndrome by allowing you to position yourself comfortably for long typing sessions at your desk. Firm but comfortable office chairs are better for your spine and posture, and can prevent back-related injuries later on.
