The first step towards finding your ultimate ergonomic office chair is to figure out the dimensions needed to accommodate your body size. First, determine the seat depth(length of the seat) that will be required for your new chair. This is a crucial step because a chair that is too long will put pressure on the back of your knees and a chair that is too short may not fully support your legs. A good way to determine your ideal seat depth is to turn towards your current office chair; if your current seat depth already works for you then make sure your new chair will have the same seat measurements. If it is too long, look for a chair with a smaller seat depth and vice versa if your chair's seat is too short. If you prefer a softer sit while working look for a chair that offers seat foam upgrades such as a gel seat or triple density foam otherwise some chairs come standard with an extra thick seat.
The first component to take into consideration when starting your search for a new chair for your home office is the capacity the chair will be used in. Will this chair be used in a home office space that is a separate room designed solely for working at home? Or will this chair be used behind a desk that is already incorporated into your home design? Depending on the space your chair will be used in will largely determine which chair you will purchase. If you will be using your chair behind a desk that is in your living room or kitchen area you will most likely opt for looks over comfort as this will be what your guests see when they enter your home. If you will be using your chair in a home office that is a separate room in your home you will have more freedom to choose what chair will keep you sitting comfortably without having to worry as much about the attractiveness of the chair.
Advantages – Perhaps the greatest benefit to purchasing used office chairs is the significant price savings that will incur. Because the chair has been used by a previous customer, retailers must mark a certain amount off their used chairs in order to sell the product again. All used office chairs should be thoroughly inspected for defect by the seller to ensure there are no problems with the chair before making it available for purchase again. Internet retailers typically advertise their used office furniture as ”open box deals” which essentially means the chair was returned back by a previous customer for any reason other than defect or damage. Used office chairs can also be a great bargain; if you do your research you may find that the product you are interested in has only been slightly used by the previous customer. Many customers order the wrong color or try out a chair for a day to find it does not work for them, in which case you will be getting an essentially new chair at a used price.
