Executive chair – These are work chairs that generally swivel, tilt and roll on wheels or on caster. So what makes it different from other chairs? Well, executive chairs are most often plushly upholstered and are made in leather. They are much more deluxe and of course, expensive, as compared to the ordinary task chairs. These luxurious work chairs really fit CEO's and office executives, thus the name. Most executive office chairs have high back rests and head rests. Like a standard chair, the executive chair is easily adjusted in many ways especially the height of its seat. It can swivel which allows the user a free range of movement and aside from that, it can also be adjusted to a reclining position suitable for short naps.
Once you have your budget figured out, it is essential to identify the key ergonomic features you will want in your office chair. Some features you maybe looking for are the overall height of the chair, the shape and contour of the back rest, the type of arm rests and whether the chair swivels or is fixed in place. Other features you may want to think about including in your search are ergonomic functions such as seat height, back height, knee tilt, movable arm rests, a seat slider, a ratchet back, and built in lumbar support. You will also need to consider the nature of your work; do you work in a call center sitting in a chair 12 hours a day or do you work from home 3-4 hours a day? You will also need to factor in your height and your weight, if you are under 5'3” you may want to opt for a petite office chair in order to fit your body or conversely if you are 6'4” you will want to look into a big and tall chair to support you. Your chair will need to fit into your pre-exisitng color scheme where you will be using it, so look into similar chair colors as what you already have going on.
The first component to take into consideration when starting your search for a new chair for your home office is the capacity the chair will be used in. Will this chair be used in a home office space that is a separate room designed solely for working at home? Or will this chair be used behind a desk that is already incorporated into your home design? Depending on the space your chair will be used in will largely determine which chair you will purchase. If you will be using your chair behind a desk that is in your living room or kitchen area you will most likely opt for looks over comfort as this will be what your guests see when they enter your home. If you will be using your chair in a home office that is a separate room in your home you will have more freedom to choose what chair will keep you sitting comfortably without having to worry as much about the attractiveness of the chair.
